BY MEN FOR MEN
come be a man of action for the vhc

I am proud to have served for several years on the Board of Directors of a summer camp for homeless kids. This has been very rewarding for me. I bring this to you because every year I was able to bring “my men” to camp to support the kids. It got to the point that as it got closer to summertime, the President would ask me if “my men” would be coming up this year. It felt good knowing we were making an impact on this community and over 200 kids. We were not always directly in front of the kids, working very hard behind the scenes. Without them realizing it, “my men” made a difference for these kids and for the entire organization.
So, a couple of weeks ago, as I was going over my plans for this year’s Veterans Holiday Celebration (I recently became the Site Setup Manager), it hit me; “my men” are “Men of Action”! Every man who has ever participated in MDI is a man of action. It may be the action of helping another man, the action of being on production for an event or being in action in the outside world.
Being “Men of Action”, we come through big time to help others. This past Saturday, Andersen of BAMF had the first exploratory meeting for the creation of a community outreach program where our men can be involved. I am sure many good things came from that meeting and will come from the program.
Years ago, Rod Greene brought to Poker Canyon that when we took over Logistics for the Veteran’s Holiday Celebration, we were like the Cavalry. We came in at the right time to help make a difference.
So, with ONLY 6 days left before the 20th Annual VHC, the organization needs our help. There are many ways to get involved. We still need some last minute managers in certain sections. We also need many men to help support the event on Saturday and Sunday, December 1st and 2nd.
This is our opportunity to make an impact, to make a difference in the lives of veterans who put their lives on the line for all of us to have the freedom we and our families enjoy on a daily basis. These brave men and women did not sign up looking for any glory or recognition. They joined the service to be of service to our country.
Now we have an opportunity to be of service to these men and women, to show our appreciation, gratitude and love for all of them.
The leaders of the Veteran’s Holiday Celebration are looking to Full Monty to be the Cavalry, to help show up strong, to make a difference in thousands of lives.
So are you ready to be a Man of Action, a man in battle, a man on his edge making a difference in other people’s lives for one or two days? Any help you can provide for this great event is greatly appreciated! By the way, it’s a really fun day. There’s live music, a delicious holiday dinner, fun activities, camaraderie, walkie talkies and other cool man stuff! Volunteer with other men on your team or bring your whole team for Saturday or Sunday. This is also open to your family and friends. This event is contagious!
Please contact me now and let me know where you can commit and give your support the next two weeks, Saturday and/or Sunday. I will fill you in with all of the details.
Please be a “Man of Action” and join us.
Thank you.
