three things

Andersen
There are many, many things that make my life work: cars, tools, sex, paintings, books, foods, thoughts, games, jokes----the list is huge, almost endless. The question that's important to me: what are the most crucial things that make your life work?
#1 SELF-REGARD, SELF-RESPECT, SELF-LOVE.
This is the foundation. I've always had moments of perceiving my beauty, my value throughout my life; sadly, those moments were far overshadowed by the time spent in self-loathing, doubt, and insecurity. That showed up for me in bragging and talking myself up, demanding recognition and compliments, lying about my accomplishments, editing my history. From a very young age I sought tools and experiences that would allow me to hold on to the feeling of self-respect, and I was successful to a point---but still sabotaging my own life and doubting my own worth.
When I got on a men's team, I slowly, slowly started to see myself in a different way---started to find my place; started to get humble; started to see I could literally tell my doubt, my habitual negativity, to fuck off and go away. I saw when I gave my self, my energy and time to other men for a righteous purpose, I slowly, slowly got strong and happy.
Men are absolutely uncomfortable with the prospect of resting in, staying within a feeling, whether good or bad. I'm challenging you to expand the time you hold on to the feeling of self-love. My habit is to NOT pay attention to a feeling; to avoid it, or medicate around it, or think about something else, to tell myself "OK, bub, that's enough a' that..." When I DO pay attention, and hold on to that feeling, it's always powerful, joyous, and healing.
#2 WORK I LOVE.
I'm passionately engaged at a very high level with piano technology, piano diagnostics. I love being a professional and making world-class players AND passionate amateurs happy and inspired. I love the business team I've put together, and the freedom and risk of owning my own business. I'm constantly making effort to raise my craft level, and I pay attention when I work---it's mostly fun and challenging. A huge paycheck here.
#3 A LOVING SOUL MATE OF A PARTNER.
My woman is smart, sweet, insanely gifted, incredibly fit, pretty, and vivacious; she has endless reserves of energy and a tremendous ability to turn the page and be in love. She lives in solution, not in problem. She is the person I trust more than any other. I've never dreamed of or experienced before the sacred love we create with each other---we love, like, feel comfortable with, and are intensely attracted to one another. We pay real, true, focused attention to each other in all realms. We bring each other incredible value every day. We inspire each other to be better; we truly cherish each other.
My life works; it is a dream come true. I'm grateful for what I have every single day.
