honor  the   truth

Buddhists say that when you perceive truth, all else drops away, ego vanishes and there is nothing more than that moment. A passage of the New Testament of the Bible says, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” It really is that simple, so long as you keep it personal.
The complications set in when you try to impose your truth on others. Once you accept that truth is a very personal thing, you come to realize that no one person and no set of people can claim ownership to it.

MEET  A  MAN :      greg   MALONEY

What juice do you get from your Men's Team?  I get so much from being on a men's team. Accountability, honest feedback, an opportunity to get to the core of who I really am and what I want out of this life. And very often I get inspiration. When I see men struggling, battling demons, going deep and getting to the other side of their issues, and most importantly, making commitments around their goals and achieving them, it gives me hope and courage to do the same.

What's you're biggest challenge and how has the team impacted that issue?  Right now, my biggest challenge is figuring out what I want the next 10-20 years of my life to look like and going after it.(career wise) In a lot of ways, I'm challenged by being too comfortable. I have a great job that pays well, and for the moment is very secure. But it's not ultimately where I want to be and definitely has an expiration date when my boss retires. It also doesn't really set me up for anything after it's done. So it's on me to create my next step. I'm unclear on what I want that to look like, and again, don't really have a fire under my ass. Life is good! So my team is aware of this and consistently challenges me to make commitments and create goals that get me closer to answering those questions.

What do you want the Men of Full Monty to know about you? I want them to know them to know that I need them to not sell me out, and call me on my bullshit. I want them to know that even though I'm somewhat of an introvert and not that outgoing, I'd like to get to know them on a deeper level, so they should reach out and say hello. (Unless it's Scott on Machete.. I can't stand him.)

What do you love about creating music?   I am the technical assistant to film composer Danny Elfman. I maintain his studios, do some recording and engineering, music editing, file prep and sound design.. My day to day changes often which is something I love about my job. In addition to the technical work I do, I also write and produce music on my own and collaborate with other artists. What I love about creating music is just that - Creating something personal, fun, exciting, sad; something that didn't exist before. It's simultaneously terrifying and gratifying. It's also a great way of communicating something that I might not have otherwise been able to.

Funniest/Most embarrassing sh*t that ever happened to you?  I'm way too cool for my own good.. Nothing embarrassing ever happens to me! Actually no.. I remember back in high school I used to drive the zamboni at our ice rink(coolest job ever by the way) and sometimes at night I'd invite friends over for pickup hockey games. So I got there early one night and I had the PA blasting music.. Some terrible 90's song was on and at some point I found myself skating around and dancing, a la Brian Boitano.. Well I turn the corner and see a bunch of my buddies practically in tears staring and laughing at me. I think they were just jealous of my sweet dance moves.

CRE Outreach, which stands for Create Reflect Empower, “is an effort to empower visually impaired and military veterans through theater” according to Artistic Director Greg Shane. The result that appears on the stage of the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood is original, thoughtful and engaging. Full Monty's own Goodman is an integral part of the production.

HOW DO WE BREAK THE HABIT OF EXCESSIVE THINKING?

100  PIECES  OF  ADVICE  FROM 100  YEAR  OLDS

IN 2011, HUFFINGTON POST INTERVIEWED A CENTENARIAN NAMED RUTH. SINCE THE AGE OF 92, RUTH HAS COMMITTED TO WEEKLY PILATES CLASSES. SHE ALSO HAS A MEAN SENSE OF STYLE.

1. “Don’t look at the calendar. Just keep celebrating every day.”
2. “Invest in quality pieces, they never go out of style.”
3. “I make myself go out every day, even if it’s only to walk around the block. The key to staying young is to keep moving.”

NBC TALKED TO A 100-YEAR-OLD DOCTOR WHO STILL RAN HIS OWN PRACTICE. HE HAD A FEW UNTRADITIONAL PIECES OF MEDICAL WISDOMTO SHARE.4. “Exercise, to me, is totally unnecessary. I think it’s mostly overrated.”

5. “The use of vitamins? Forget it. And I don’t encourage going to a lot of doctors, either.”
6. “Fall in love, get married. Sex is to be encouraged.”

THIS CENTENARIAN SHARED ADVICE ABOUT LOVE, FORGIVENESS, AND PASSION:7. “Even if you feel hatred, keep it to yourself. Don’t hurt other people for any reason.”

8. “Don’t ever give up on love.”
9. “Nobody else controls you.”
10. “Make time to cry.”

THE  DRUGGING  OF  THE  AMERICAN   BOY

THE DRUGGING OF THE AMERICAN BOY
By the time they reach high school, nearly 20 percent of all American boys will be diagnosed with ADHD. Millions of those boys will be prescribed a powerful stimulant to "normalize" them. A great many of those boys will suffer serious side effects from those drugs. The shocking truth is that many of those diagnoses are wrong, and that most of those boys are being drugged for no good reason—simply for being boys. It's time we recognize this as a crisis.

IN  SEARCH  OF  THE  MAN  WHO  BROKE  MY  NECK

When Joshua Prager was young, he dreamt he would grow up to play baseball. Or be a doctor. He never imagined that at the age of 19 he would find himself paralyzed in the hospital, and that he’d have to reteach his body to move, to relearn to breathe and speak. In his new book Half-life, Prager returns to Jerusalem, where a truck hit the bus he was riding in and broke his neck.

INVESTOR'S GUIDE 2014
Invest in innovation - 5 stock picks

Investing in the cutting edge is inherently risky. But these five firms -- either technology companies working on breakthroughs or mature businesses benefiting from new trends -- are best positioned to turn innovation into profits.

3D Systems
"Printing" objects out of thin air

The idea of being able to replicate an actual three-dimensional solid object from a digital model used to be something straight out of Star Trek. Today 3D printers aren't just real, they can be found at your neighborhoodFedEx (FDX, Fortune 500) or UPS(UPS, Fortune 500) Store to create anything from tools to models to parts.McDonald's (MCD, Fortune 500) is even considering using 3D printers to build Happy Meal toys on site.

The hope is that soon you, too, may want a 3D printer in your home.
