the push
The purpose of THE PUSH is allowing a man to get out frustration, clear his head so that he can be the man he strives to be. This can be used when simply venting isn't sufficient. It is extremely physical, but safe if set up properly.
The man should remove eyeglasses, hat or sharp or fragile objects, as should the front line of men, who should not have physical ailments.
The idea is to form an unmovable wall for the man to push against. The pusher buries his shoulders into the chests and shoulders of the front men facing him, who lean into the pusher. Two lines of at least two other men line up behind the front men, putting their shoulder into the man in front of them and arms on their shoulders. When all is set up, the man is asked to push.
There is no dialog: the pusher may yell, grunt, yell obscenities but is not encouraged to talk. Other men say nothing, other than maybe: keep going or get it all out or don't give up. Too many words tend to put the man back into his head.
The man will keep pushing until he is exhausted and feels he has gotten it out. Men will often get past the anger stop pushing and just cry. That is fine. There is no need to say more, especially from the team. If the pusher needs to talk after, that is also fine, but just some golden silence and communing is great.
