Returning Men
by BREMS

Your men have just returned from their Men's Weekend. You came back for them, and with great anticipation you are bringing them back onto your teams. After all, you are the men who know these new graduates best. You watched them grab their balls, helped with their reg forms, supported them to make their weekend registration fee, and fathered them as their barriers came up, one after the other. You are excited to see that they didn't give up, participated fully, trusted the men, dropped their mask, connected to their grief, their anger, their shame, their joy, and their masculine power.
As these men come back to our teams from the thrilling adventure known as the Men's Weekend, we want to remember and reconnect to the power and excitement through them. We remember our Weekend, and we look into their eyes, searching for a direct hit of that crazy power. But let us not forget that these men have just been exposed to a true and ancient way of being masculine that rocked them to the bone.
This new knowledge and the freedom that comes with it may cause them to deeply question careers, relationships, and entire ways of being. Now that they have access to the master control panel, they want to immediately start rewiring their reality. We veterans know better, but who can blame them? Our responsibility as mature teams for the next few weeks (and months) is to resist the urge to treat these men as sports trophies, and really tune-in to their battles and barriers. They need your personal projections less than they need your help and guidance to adapt these revelations to their existing lives.
But as Justin advises, give them a few weeks to cool off first. No major decisionsshould be made until they get their "sea legs." This is exactly the case with our man Cisneros, who came back from his Weekend with more questions than answers. He felt a strong imperative to make some corrections in his life, and was already feeling the emotional consequences of those changes. It was at this exact moment that he needed some precise guidance, rather than the distraction of jokes and sex stories. Cisneros showed visible relief when he was reminded to chill and allow some time to digest before making any decisions. The men had his back.
When a man returns from his Weekend, a certain amount of bravado is certainly in order, but a deeper awareness of your man's new journey will be the most satisfying connection to your Weekend you will ever need.
